A word about the posts you’ll find on Mr. Write’s Page…
As early as elementary school, I dreamed grandly and vaguely of a career that would allow me to tinker with words. I was a clueless kid, but damned if it didn’t work out. Almost every job I ever held involved me in the art of wordsmithing.
But I didn’t wait to begin writing.
Early on, I began writing innocuous short stories. By eighth grade, I was journaling regularly. Through high school and college, I was documenting the deliberate and the inadvertent comedy around me, just because it was fun.
For several years as a young adult, I kept a detailed, typewritten daily record of events, the entries often consisting of two or more single-spaced pages. That practice ended when I got married; a daily journal takes lots of leisure time.
Most of the documentation described above is still in my possession. The starting point for many posts on Mr. Write’s Page is either that material or one of the countless emails I’ve saved.
Some of my posts are about the present, but many are memories of the old days. When I feel the need to look back, I simply descend into the vault, polish up a suitable nugget, and press the Publish button.
I mention this because some posts may strike you as suspiciously heavy on the details. Perhaps, you may think, they are fiction disguised as recollections.
They’re not. They’re from the vault.
I love your stories. I can’t say it any more clearly…or genuinely.
I appreciate that very much. I get a lot of enjoyment out of writing them.

Thank you sir .
could you look at your story on Floyd Hoard? I have been working on a display honoring the anniversary of this great man’s life and while I really enjoyed your article, there is some incorrect information. I would not say anything, except this morning in the Gainesville Times, there was an article about Mr. Hoard and it contained the same incorrect information, so thought it was time to correct it.
Mr. Hoard did NOt serve in WWII and was not in the Army. He was in the US Navy. I think that was the only mistakes, but will read through your article again to be sure. Also, his son, Dickey Hoard will be doing a reading from his newest book, and some of his first book about the death of Mr. Hoard. Thank you.
Thanks for letting me know.
